Is VR therapy covered by Medicare?
In many cases yes, under Medicare DME benefits, and other major insurers cover it too. It depends on your plan and your location, which is why we verify your benefits before treatment begins.
Do I need a prescription from my doctor?
Yes. A physician's prescription is required to start. We contact your doctor's office and handle that paperwork, so in most cases there is nothing for you to chase.
Can I use my own headset for treatment?
No. The therapy software only runs on the headset we send you.
Can I do this if I am already seeing someone in person?
Yes. It is designed to complement the care you already have.
Do I need to visit a clinic?
No. Therapy is done entirely at home.
What if I do not have insurance?
Better Health currently serves people with insurance only, and we do not accept cash payment for these items. If you are not sure what you have, call and the team will check for you.
Do I need to be good with technology?
If you can work a TV remote, you can work a VR headset. It arrives preloaded and configured, there is no app to install and nothing to pair, and your coach walks you through it on a video call.
